COACH DARREN DeSALVO

Darren DeSalvo has been practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for over 24 years. Born and raised in Kenner, Louisiana he is a 2nd Degree Black Belt under the legendary Jean Jacques Machado.

Professor DeSalvo has been training with the Machado’s since 2007 and before that he trained extensively with the Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu team.

He started doing Judo and Wrestling at 13 years old in high school, and has been training ever since. Coach DeSalvo has been training and coaching the last year at Bayou Elite wrestling club, under the tutelage of Head Coach Landon Williams, the 2 time National champ from Wartburg.

He has also been under the expert tutelage of Snake Pit U.S.A. Head Coach/Founder, Joel Bane for some time and was recently awarded Full Coach Skill Level Recognition by both Coach Bane and Snake Pit U.S.A.’s very own Legendary 2x Olympic Coach, Floyd “Bad News” Winter!

Having impressed the Snake Pit U.S.A. crew to such an extent, he was selected as the organizations Team Captain for the “KIDS CATCH” program, which is the very first of its kind.

Professor DeSalvo is a regular training partner of former UFC/ADCC champ Ricco Rodriguez. When you train at his academy, “Cyclone Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu,” not only will you train in sports Jiu-Jitsu, but also self-defense, Catch as Catch Can Wrestling, as well as MMA or Vale Tudo.

Coach DeSalvo will get you ready for world’s Jiu-Jitsu competitions, self-defense on the street and prepare you for a fight in the ring or a cage, if you desire. If you want to be the best, you train with the best.
